How Magnetic Filters Operate

As the liquid or semi-fluid material flows through the filter, it is directed to pass closely around these magnetic rods.

  • Magnetic Rods: These rods are engineered to generate a strong and uniform magnetic field. They are typically constructed using high-grade magnetic materials, primarily Neodymium rare earth magnets or ceramic-ferrite magnets. The choice between Neodymium and ceramic-ferrite depends on the specific application requirements, considering factors such as magnetic strength, operating temperature, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Particle Capture: When ferromagnetic particles, even microscopic ones, come into contact with the intense magnetic field emanating from the rods, they are instantaneously attracted and securely retained on the surface of the stainless steel armor encasing the magnets. This process ensures that only purified material continues its flow through the production line.
  • Material Protection: By continuously removing these contaminants, magnetic filters prevent abrasive wear and tear on pumps, valves, nozzles, and other sensitive components, significantly extending the lifespan of valuable production equipment and reducing maintenance costs.

The filter is designed with a lid that can be easily opened by hand, providing quick access to the magnetic rods. The ferrous particles retained on the bars are then efficiently removed with the help of brushes and gloves, allowing for a thorough and hygienic cleaning process before the system is brought back online. This simple yet effective cleaning procedure ensures that the filters consistently deliver optimal performance.
