The choice depends entirely on your application. If you need to capture very fine powder particles with high magnetic pull strength, we recommend Neodymium (Rare Earth) magnets. Magnetic separators capture and hold only ferrous metals such as iron and steel. Metal detectors, on the other hand, detect non-magnetic metals such as stainless steel, copper, and aluminum, stopping the line or diverting the material when necessary. For full protection, it is generally recommended to use a magnetic separator first (to reduce the load), followed by a metal detector for final inspection.
