As the belt moves away from the magnetic field, ferrous metals collect and fall off the infeed conveyor or fall into the chute. It is designed for a maximum suspension height of approximately 10 inches (300 mm) on belts less than 1000 mm wide. If wider tapes and effective magnetising distance are requested, a larger suspended permanent plate magnet may be required.
